Who controls your data

GCExperts LLC operates WIFFO and is responsible for the personal data described here. Contact [email protected].

Cookies, and how to say no

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages get read. It sets cookies. Nothing is set until you accept — if you press Reject, or simply ignore the banner, no analytics cookie is ever written. Your choice itself is kept in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie, so rejecting genuinely leaves nothing behind.

You can change your mind at any time using Cookie settings in the footer of any page. Choosing Reject afterwards also deletes any analytics cookies already set.

  • _gaGoogle Analytics. Distinguishes one browser from another so a repeat visit is not counted as a new person. Expires after 2 years.
  • _ga_<id>Google Analytics. Keeps session state. Expires after 2 years.
  • No advertising cookies.Google Signals and ad personalisation are switched off, and we run no advertising or social media trackers of any kind.

Technically: we use Google Consent Mode, set to denied before any Google script is even fetched, so a slow decision cannot leak a measurement.

What analytics actually sees

Pages viewed, roughly how long, approximate location from a truncated IP address, device and browser type, and whether you arrived from a link or a search. It is aggregate traffic measurement. We do not use it to identify you, we do not upload any customer list to Google, and we do not use it for advertising. Google is the processor here and handles that data under its own terms.

What we collect when you use WIFFO

Two kinds of account exist, and they are deliberately not the same.

If you are a worker — a bartender, server, stylist, trainer, anyone who wants a WIFFO number — we hold your name as you choose to show it, your mobile number, your trade, the places you say you work, anything you post, and your billing status. Your mobile number is used to sign you in and is never shown to anyone who follows you.

If you follow someone, we hold your name, your mobile number, and optionally your email, plus the list of who you follow. Your details are never shown to the people you follow as a list they can export, and never to anyone else.

Our hosting and network provider (Cloudflare) processes ordinary server logs, including IP addresses, to serve the page and block abuse. That is infrastructure logging — we do not build profiles from it and we do not share it.

What we will never do with it

We will never sell or rent personal data. We will never let an employer search for a worker, or browse who follows whom. A worker’s value report shows counts only — how many people follow them, how long, how many moved with them — and never a single follower’s name. There is no rating system and no public directory. When someone switches themselves to invisible, that takes effect immediately.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from your own page, and it happens at once rather than after a waiting period. Your name, email, phone number and everything you posted are erased. If you follow people, those follows are removed.

Two things deliberately survive, and you should know about both before you press it. A worker’s WIFFO number is retired permanently — it is not freed up and will never be issued to anyone else, because the whole promise of the number is that it means one person forever. And if a worker has blocked you, that block survives: we keep a one-way scrambled form of your mobile number, which cannot be read back or used to contact you, purely so that deleting an account is not a way to undo being blocked.

Your rights

Reject analytics from the banner or the footer at any time. You may ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or object to processing — by deleting your account directly, or by emailing [email protected]. We answer within 45 days. If we ever refuse a request you may appeal, in writing to the same address, and we will tell you the outcome and how to complain to the Texas Attorney General if you are still unhappy.

Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are respected where your browser sends them. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.

How long we keep things

Account data is kept while the account is open, and erased when you close it. Sign-in codes expire after ten minutes. A shared value report link expires after 30 days by itself, and can be switched off sooner by the worker who made it. Payment records are kept as long as tax law requires, and are held by Stripe rather than by us — we never see or store your card number.

Children

WIFFO is not for under-18s and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a minor has an account, email [email protected] and we will remove it.
